We’re in it together.
get involved.
respect is strongest when it’s visible and shared.
Participation in respect nz signals alignment with a a clear national standard of courtesy and respect in every day interactions.
It doesn’t require organisations replace their own culture, values, or training.
It reinforces them.
for organisations.
Most organisations already promote respectful conduct.
Participation in Respect NZ builds on that foundation.
Organisations that choose to formally align with the standard may seek accreditation and display the Respect NZ Hallmark.
Accreditation recognises organisations that:
• Are aligned with the Respect NZ vision and standard
• Communicate and reciprocate clear expectations of conduct
• Support respectful behaviour in their environments
Participation does not replace internal systems or policies.
The Respect NZ Hallmark signals something simple and visible:
Respect will be shown, and respect is expected in return.
Participation is not about perfection.
It’s about supporting a visible, shared national standard, and showing you’re a part of it.
for individuals.
Respect begins with our everyday interactions.
Individuals can support the standard by modelling respectful behaviour, reinforcing positive conduct, and encouraging clear expectations within their communities.
Cultural norms shift when expectations are visible and shared.
Participation signals alignment with a national standard — one that belongs to all of us.
